a little update

on friday we drove by the runners doing the deseret news marathon, and I was a little sad in my heart that I can't even really run right now. but also very excited that one day I'll be able to run a marathon again. it's a crazy thing, that marathon. it's a siren song of pain and beauty -- perhaps a lot like chidbirth? we shall see. . .

as for an update with my kenyan: I haven't been doing a whole lot. I can't run, but it's too hot for that anyway. I haven't made it to the pool in a long time, because after work I just want to go home. I do, however, do a lot of walking at work, so I definitely count that. even though I've gained what seems like a gadjillion pounds, I don't feel heavy or that uncomfortable and it seems (for now) that my belly is just growing and not really the rest of my body. thank you for small miracles in my life.

I bet you are the cutest pregnant lady anywhere! Congrats on everything and there will be that marathon day waiting for you in the future. Check out tallgirlrunning.blogspot.com for her comparison on childbirth and marathons. You'll appreciate it. I'm so excited for you! Besides you get a way better prize at the end besides some medal that gets tucked away. You'll get to enjoy yours each and every day. Wow, that was cheesy!

One thing about training for a marathon post-baby is that you have a whole new motivation. Its like you suddenly want to prove to yourself that you can still do it. Not only can you still do it but that you can do it well.
Time and a season...childbirth is a marathon of it's own. I think you have a heads up on childbirth if you have done a marathon...it is totally a mental/ physical game too.
I hope to do another one next year ( that is if i can get my hip to start working again)
Good luck girl!
